Abdul Hussein didn't waste his UFC debut. Dustin Jacoby brought a three-fight knockout streak into his light heavyweight assignment against undefeated newcomer Muhammad Saidov (9-0). Jacoby sits at 22-9-1 with 15 knockouts and is coming off a second-round TKO of Julius Walker, so Saidov's unbeaten record was walking straight into live ammunition.

The featured prelim belonged to heavyweight Valter Walker, and his story is almost absurd on paper. The Rio de Janeiro fighter is 15-1 and has won each of his last four by heel hook — a specialty finish that's rare enough at heavyweight to feel like a gimmick until you watch him keep landing it. Thomas Petersen (11-4) was tasked with keeping his ankles intact.

Main Card Backdrop

All of it fed into the main card, headlined by former light heavyweight champion Magomed Ankalaev's return against short-notice replacement Bogdan Guskov. Guskov steps up ranked #9 in the division at 18-3-1, a heavy-handed puncher with 15 of his wins by knockout, and he's coming off a razor-thin draw with Jan Blachowicz.

Short-notice or not, Guskov's power makes him a live dog against anyone. But the prelim story of the night was Hussein — the newest face in a crowded 135-pound picture, arriving with a finish and a streak that demands attention.

Nine straight, nine straight finishes, and a debut win over a proven veteran. If Hussein keeps stacking nights like this one, the bantamweight rankings will have to make room.
